Why are We called “LittlePlants”?

Living Plants Delivered – Gold Coast

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve been in the position of searching for fun gifts to send relatives who don’t live nearby. This can be quite difficult if you’re a ‘planty’ person, looking to send faraway friends a growing gift. I have often not been able to find budget-friendly, planted gifts that can be delivered with a card message. So, I thought, why not at least offer this to like-minded people, a living plant gift delivery service in our area here on the Gold Coast.

Yes, but why “LittlePlants”?

Because, we’re not about big palms trees or plant hire for offices, etc. we’re about the specialness of small things, and simple, thoughtful, gifts.

New plants have arrived!

We are super excited that more new plants arrived last week – we have been busy doing them up into all our usual fun containers and terrariums, but we still have more to do…

Remember that if you need living plants delivered on the Gold Coast, we are more than happy to help if we have what you need.

New arrivals include a lot of really good house/indoor plant varieties: aglaonemes, bird nest fern, crotons, fittonias, rabbit’s foot ferns, etc.

Why not come by and check out our studio in Parkwood!

We are also able to plant up your own containers if you have something in mind.

See you later lovely humans, we’ll be out the back with potting mix on our hands!

botanic gardens sydney-pollinate exhibition

Flashback – one year ago – Pollinate, Sydney Botanic Gardens

In April last year, we had the privilege of going down to the Pollinate exhibition at Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney . In a large, light-filled enclosed greenhouse an abundant array of amazing plants was on show. The star of the entire presentation, in my view, was the trails of cascading sagey-grey-green dichondria – aka ‘dichondria silver falls’. The entire space was kept humid and moist from a light mist sprayed into the air almost continually up near the glass ceiling.

I only wish we could have brought the whole display back with us!

Potting up new indoor plants in hurricane glassware

These hurricane vases are one of the most popular items on our website, and in-store. They are a nice size and presentation for gifting. Sometimes we plant out with succulents, and sometimes with lushly-foliaged indoor plants.

In the photo above you can see the progress of planting out some tillandsia cynea in the hurricane vases.

To order one, simply phone us, order online, or pop into the shop (but do check we have stock before you come in, just in case we’ve sold out! Although, there’s sure to be something else you’ll find…)

What we love about Peace Lily Plants

peace lily plant delivery gold coast

The humble and ever-loved peace-lily, or spathiphyllum, gives you a lot of reasons to like it.

With varieties ranging from small leafed to large, this beautiful houseplant will give back much more in green-leafed-love than the little water it takes to keep it.

These living gifts will survive in light conditions from fairly low light, to bright windows, and they will tolerate some neglect

What we like most however, is that unlike some other plants which might do what we call ‘random spontaneous death’, these spathiphyllums will let you know if they’re really really thirsty, letting their leaves sag a little if they are dry, giving you ample time to notice and remedy the situation well before it is anywhere near to death. An early-warning alarm for plants – totally awesome.

Our stock varies a little, but we usually try to have them in store. Pick up available from Parkwood on the Gold Coast, or we can deliver for you to most local areas.

We’re Open!

Welcome to our happy new online studio for all things about Little Plants!

Look around, tell us what you think – any plants we should have here that we don’t? (I for one would like to see some pilea peperomioides, but they are very hard to find… it’s on the wishlist though, so fingers crossed!)
